Community Jameel was established in 2003 to continue the Jameel family's community support efforts, a tradition started in the 1940s by the late Abdul Latif Jameel, founder of the Abdul Latif Jameel business. Located in the United Arab Emirates, Community Jameel is dedicated to supporting social and economic sustainability across the Middle East and beyond, through a range of initiatives.

University of California, Davis, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

The UC Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, a member of the J-WAFS-led FACT Alliance, was established in 1922 as one of four colleges on the campus of the University of California, Davis. It is ranked number one in the nation for agriculture, plant sciences, animal science, forestry, and agricultural economics.

Wageningen University & Research, a member of the J-WAFS-led FACT Alliance, is a public university in Wageningen, Netherlands. It consists of Wageningen University and the former agricultural research institute of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, and focuses its research on scientific, social, and commercial problems in the field of life sciences and natural resources.

International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)

The International Food Policy Research Institute, a member of the J-WAFS-led FACT Alliance, provides research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in developing countries. It is a research center of CGIAR, a worldwide partnership engaged in agricultural research for development.

Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR)

The Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research, a member of the J-WAFS-led FACT Alliance, is a national research institute aspiring to see improved livelihoods of all Ethiopians engaged in agriculture, agro-pastoralism, and pastoralism through market-competitive agricultural technologies.

Oxford Martin School

The Oxford Martin School, a member of the J-WAFS-led FACT Alliance, brings together a vibrant community of scholars, drawn from across the University of Oxford to tackle issues of global significance, with teams working to have an impact beyond academia.

Individual Donors and Program Supporters

Numerous individuals have donated to J-WAFS since our founding in 2014. Their generous gifts help us to apply MIT’s resources to the greatest food and water challenges of our time. Our donors’ support has funded fellowship programs for advanced PhD students, implementation grants on specific challenges such as water innovation in India and reducing the negative impacts of industrialized animal agriculture, expert workshops, and other programs. IIT-Ropar is an engineering, science, and technology higher education institute located in Rupnagar, Punjab, India. IIT-Ropar partnered with J-WAFS in 2019 to launch a research seed fund to address food, water, and agriculture in India.
